Not sure about this one...

Remember this fabric from my last post? Well here's the top, it's almost done. All I have to do is the hem on the bottom and the sleeves. Problem however, I'm just not sure I like it...but I'm going to finish it and if nothing else I'll wear it around the house on the weekends. I tried to add some interest by also using the border on the sleeves, and around the neckline
It might be the pattern but it just seems lacking...when it's finished I'll take pictures of it on me, maybe it will grow on me, we'll see.

OH, remember this. I hate UFO's so I'll usually stick with something until it's done or I decide that it's just not working out and I decide it's a wadder. That brings me to this top...from back around Spring time. Well I think I forgot to tell you all it totally became a wadder. Yeah, just had to let it go. It never did fit well so I decided it had to go. I guess "You've Got to Know When to Hold 'Em, Know When to Fold 'Em, Know When to Walk Away, and Know When to Run, as the old country song goes. This was a fold 'em and run. I think I might try it again maybe next spring cause I really like the pattern, next time I'll try a muslin first, novel idea huh.

More later, thinking of some things for Fall.

Happy Sewing!!

  2. I like the border print, but I totally agree that you have to know when to let something go! I have put so much work into things that I just ended up throwing away, all that time! I could have been sewing something I liked!

  3. Definitely add some of the border print to the seam at the bustline and it will perk this top right up!

  4. I absolutely love that fabric. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Maybe with some black leggings, killer shoes/boots, jewelry makeup and hair you can still save it. Try it. It can't hurt. I will say that I tend to like low round necks, v-necks and always front button. It tends to make bigger bodies look smaller.

  5. I love the border print, however I think the circles just seems like too much. How about finding a similar knit in a solid color, remove the border print from the hem and the sleeve and attached the solid color, do the same for the neckline. I think it might start to singgggg.

  9. Thanks guys, I'm so behind. It's been extremely busy at work and church stuff I'm wasted when I get home, so I haven't done anything else with this top. I'll see what I come up with this week/weekend and update ya'll later.
